Fats/Oils/Grease Disposal
Avoid environmentally harmful residual FOG
Residual fats, used cooking oils (UCO), and grease (FOG) are common byproducts of food preparation that can pose serious threats to drainage systems and public health. When FOG is improperly disposed of by being poured down drains, it solidifies and accumulates in pipes, leading to clogs and reduced water flow. These clogs can cause sanitary sewer overflows (SSOs), where raw sewage is released into the environment. SSOs can contaminate waterways, soil, and public spaces, posing significant health risks such as the spread of waterborne diseases and creating unpleasant odors.
